Google Update

People want to find the answer to their questions as fast as possible. Here, the speed of the web page is a very important factor.

So, Google considered this and is coming up with the new update called Google speed update.

Google Speed Update: Everything you need to know about it

Google will officially implant this update in their search algorithm from July 2018.

So, now page speed of the web page will become one of the most important ranking factors for mobile search results.

They also said, the pages which deliver “slower user experience” will surely get affected by this update.

The good thing is, Google has given us the quality amount of time to fix this issue. So, if you think your mobile page speed is slow, consider fixing it as soon as possible (before July 2018).

Google recommends website owners and bloggers to speed test their site. You can use Google’s official PageSpeed test tool called PageSpeed insights and you also must use lighthouse to find out the website errors/ recommendations.

Google’s Zhiheng Wang and Doantam Phan wrote:

The “Speed Update”, as we’re calling it, will only affect pages that deliver the slowest experience to users and will only affect a small percentage of queries. It applies the same standard to all pages, regardless of the technology used to build the page. The intent of the search query is still a very strong signal, so a slow page may still rank high if it has great, relevant content.

As you all know, back in 2010, Google officially said that “page speed is counted as the ranking factor”, but that was for desktop searches only…

And now in July 2018, Google will also look after your mobile pages and notice how fast they are loading and use it as the ranking factor while showing mobile search results.

Note: It’s not yet officially announced that these ranking factors will also impact the desktop searches or not. So, as soon as Google announces, we will update it here on this page.
