In this high time of social media trends and the continuous updates in each and every social media application to keep up with these latest trends, all the platforms have come a long way from where and how they had started. Such is the case with Instagram as well.
It has never failed to amaze its users with its interesting updates time to time. Let’s have a look at its new features in case you might’ve missed:
Instagram Now Supports Portrait and Landscape Photo & Video in Galleries
One of the main drawbacks of this popular app was its inability to post portrait and landscape photos and videos. But the scenario has quite changed.
After the introduction of multiples in Instagram, to upload multiple photos and videos in one post, they had to be cropped into squares. However, now the social network has announced that the portrait, landscape, and square formats can now be included in the same gallery. Quite better huh?
When the feature of stories was first introduced, it only appeared on the top. But as Instagram doesn’t want to let you miss any story from your best friend, the stories now appear in between the posts. Again, Instagram understands you a lot.
Go Live with a Guest
With the popularity of doing Live video chats for official matters or just for fun, Instagram is coming up with the best to make your experience better than before.
Yet another feature perfect for colleagues, collaborators, experts and your sort of friendships where you can’t leave your best friend alone even for a second. Instagram now allows you to do Live and bring a guest on stream with you.
Now launch a book, or show of your friendship and make it goals – Instagram has got you covered in all the ways. What could be better than this?
Introducing Polls in Instagram Stories
As everything discussed earlier was less, Instagram has come up with an interactive poll sticker feature in your stories. This sticker lets you ask a question and see the results from your followers and friends as they have voted.
Whether you’re trying to plan tomorrow’s outfit, choosing which class to take or figuring out where to go for dinner, now it’s easy to share a two-option poll right in your story. So when in a dilemma, come to Instagram and ask not just one friend but be sure knowing from everyone you know and who knows you. Instagram quite a caretaker, no?
New direct message tools including remix and replay controls
Instagram has explained its new and easier feature – ‘When viewing a photo message from a friend, tap the camera icon at the bottom and capture a reply. Your reply includes a sticker of what you’re replying to. You can move and resize it, and add your own twist to stickers, text, and drawings.
In addition, you can also send a split-screen reply with the sent image by tapping on the sticker.
Further, you can now also control replays. Choose ‘one view’ to allow your friends to only see the message once. And choose ‘allow replay’ in order to let your friends have more time to view your messages. Photos and videos sent with ‘Allow Replay’ loop automatically and your friends can tap and hold to pause.
Instagram Stories for Desktop
Up until now, Instagram stories were a strict mobile-only feature. However now, Instagram stories will soon be available for the desktop versions of the application. This social media update by Instagram which allows for stories for desktop is a great opportunity for marketers to spread their stories a little bit further.
It is very easier to be able to supervise all your social networks through one platform. You can now monitor Instagram engagement through face through Facebook. It is possible to review and engage the comments, all through the Facebook desktop version. Indeed a huge advantage for marketers, isn’t it?
New Hashtag and Location Stories on Instagram
Instagram now allows users to tag their posts with location and allows stories to be viewed using the hashtag search. This provides the advertisers with the added advantage of collecting data.
