2019 Expected Trends in Mobile App Development

We are about to enter 2019 in no time. Thus, it’s the best time to explore what all 2018 gave us in the mobile app development field. With respect to a rise in the usage of smartphones, there has been a hike in Android app development company in India. According to the report issued by, globally 61.2% of the population accessed the Internet in the year 2018. At the same time, the statistical report issued by comScore, on an average the users spend 69% of the time on social media via smartphones, out of which 50% of the time is used up on mobile apps. With the statistics from different sources, though the worldwide mobile app market in 2016 accounted for $108,400 million, it is expected that by the year 2023, the mobile app market will reach up to $311,249 million. At present, there are approximately 2.8 million mobile apps present on Google Play Store while 2.2 million mobile apps are present on Apple App Store. By 2017, the total number of downloads of the mobile apps was 197 billion and this is expected to reach 352 billion by 2021. It has been seen that there is an increase of 10.6% in the total number of downloads of mobile apps.

The report issued by also highlighted and ranked the mobile apps present in Google Play Store and Apple App Store. At the end of March 2018, it was seen that the most popular mobile app category was that of education apps with a total share of 8.29% while entertainment apps held the second position with a share of 7.43%. But the data as per of September 2018, the mobile game apps topped the chart with a total share of 24.86% while business apps held the second position with a share of 9.77%. As per the statistical record of the most used mobile apps, the category which topped was social networking apps with a share of 20% while the second one was music apps with a total share of 18%.

From all the statistics that were reported, it can be seen that the existence of mobiles is a must in today’s world. With its existence, there is a greater requirement of excellent features providing enhanced customer support by being user-friendly in use. Though there are effective mobile apps in the market but still there is a great scope for Android as well as E-commerce mobile apps. And this scope can take Android app development company in India and E-commerce app development company in India to a much greater height.

As 2018 stood a good year for the mobile apps, 2019 is all set to see a cut-throat competition in the mobile app development companies in India.
